Sweetheart’s Tea for Two

Hooray! It’s nearly Valentine’s Day! Such a special day to celebrate the meaning of love with the someone special in your life. How about celebrating the day with a Sweetheart’s Tea for Two? Plan something simple, but romantic. There’s nothing that says you can’t break out the candles and champagne for afternoon tea for two, especially for Valentine’s Day. A tray with a few sweets, maybe some chocolate truffles or chocolate covered strawberries, a nice pot of tea, and you’ve set the stage for an afternoon of romance. Enjoy!

Polka Dots Retro Apron

Hey, I am feeling a little dotty these days! I made this apron using a black polka dot fabric and accented with pink gingham check fabric. I think it has a great retro look to it, don’t you? This apron can be made as a Mother/Daughter set – order now for Mother’s Day! It’s really not too far in the future and we all know how time flies by!

A Visit to the Flower Garden

I’ve listed two new tea cozies on Etsy that I thought I would share with you here. One is dark green and printed with a display of flowers that range from pink peonies to asters to daisies. The cozy is lined with a light pink broadcloth and bound with dark green bias tape. This tea cozy is elegant enough for a formal afternoon. It’s like a visit to the flower garden, only these flowers are ever blooming!

I’ve also listed a new black and white tea cozy which has a white background fabric that is covered with a black print which is not quite a fleur de lis, but pretty close! The tea cosy is lined with white broadcloth and bound with black bias tape. This is the first tea cozy that I’ve ever used black bias tape for, and I must say, I think it’s a rather dramatic effect! The cozy is equally appropriate for a male or female tea lover.

January is National Hot Tea Month!

Celebrate National Hot Tea Month by trying a new tea and treating yourself to a new tea cozy! I love darjeeling tea, but resolve this year to try to find a pu-erh tea to enjoy. Maybe January is the time to do it! I’ll let you know what I find.

Here’s a new red polka dot tea cozy that I’ve listed on Etsy. I think it’s kinda fun and retro. You could use this cozy for Valentine’s Day if you wanted, and it’s cute enough for everyday use.  If you need a new tea cozy, stop by my shop and take a peek!

Tea Cozy for Valentine’s Day

This tea cozy is perfect for you and your sweetheart for a romantic Valentine’s Day tea for two! Lipstick red kisses  dotting the black fabric may prove to be the incentive for a smooch or two!  Some yummy warm scones, chocolate covered strawberries, a nice pot of tea and maybe even a sip of champagne will set the tone for a wonderful tea time!

Tea Cozy to chase away winter “blahs”

This is a new tea cozy added to my shop on Etsy. It’s bright yellow fabric has a garden trellis in gold and orange and features bright neon flowers in pink, blue and green. If this cozy doesn’t chase away the winter blahs, nothing will! Imagine this on your breakfast table on a winter’s day, keeping a nice pot of your favorite breakfast tea nice and hot while you gaze out at the snow!!

New Tea Cozies on Etsy

I’ve added a couple of new tea cozies to my shop on Etsy to replenish those that were sold during the 2009 Christmas season. I was delighted to see my cozies go for presents for tea lovers! They went to moms and dads, sisters and brothers, and friends. It was truly rewarding to have my handiwork purchased as gifts for loved ones.

The Christmas giving season may be over, but now winter has settled in. Tea cozies are great for keeping your teapot of tea hot. Great in cold weather and useful in the summer when air conditioning can cool down those pots of tea!

I’ve added a tea cozy with a southwestern flair; and one in a brown paisley print.  Hope you like them!

Christmas “Etsy Bucks”

Have come up with something new for my girls for Christmas this year, and they love it! I have given them “Etsy Bucks.” Each girl was given a dollar amount in “Etsy Bucks” to spend on Etsy this year. All they have to do is send me the link for the item that they want, and I pay for it! It’s simple and fun and supports our crafters on Etsy. The things they are sending me links for are for items that I would have never thought of in a million years, so it’s been a lot of fun! I think a new holiday tradition has been created.

Merry Christmas to All!

Watercolor Tea Cozy

I am not an art scholar, but the  fabric in this tea cozy just reminds me so much of the artist Monet’s watercolor paintings. I love the swirling effect of the yellow and blue flowers in this fabric! Simple enough for everyday use; pretty enough for company for afternoon tea!

Gingerbread Men Tea Cozy for Christmas

I found this cute Christmas fabric and wanted to make a tea cozy with it! The fabric has a cinnamon brown background and has fun gingerbread men and candy canes sprinkled all over it. I think it makes a really fun Christmas Tea Cozy!
